First, if you are working with a funeral home, they will provide you with a funeral planning booklet. A member of our Ministry of Consolation will reach out to you quickly and schedule a time to meet with you. Please welcome them in the spirit they come!

LIVE STREAM REQUEST FOR FUNERALS - COMPLETE ONLINE: Request for Live-Streaming (click here) - Complete this online form to request that the Funeral Mass be made available online to those who cannot attend the Funeral Liturgy for any reason. The video will also be available about an hour after (in addition to several weeks after) the funeral. Please complete this request as soon as you make arrangements with the parish for the funeral, as we need to arrange for the person to do the live streaming. There is currently no charge for this service.

TO MAKE THE FUNERAL (OR MEMORIAL MASS) OFFERING ONLINE:

Depending on your arrangements, your funeral home may already collect the offering for the Church as part of their whole funeral package for you. (For instance, Donohue-Cecere in Westbury always does that.) Check with your funeral director before you make an online offering.

St. Brigid's needs you - particularly as we seek to serve those who mourn. The Ministry of Consolation assists families in preparing for the funeral of a loved one. We are in need of: 

• Liturgical Ministers (Greeters, Servers, Extraordinary Ministers and Readers)
• Cakebakers (willing to make a small dessert for a family who has suffered a loss)
• Worship Aid Makers (able to update our Mass program for each funeral, involves light computer and possibly copier use)
• Companions (meeting with a family who has suffered a loss to assist with choosing readings, hymns, etc. and being present on the day of the funeral)
